Firecracker ban – A radical step which could have been implemented better!

Supreme Court has implemented ban on firecrackers in Delhi, by suspending sale of all fireworks before Deewali . This has unleashed ongoing criticism on social media, and many people have started linking this with religious sentiments. I am not going to go into the debate if this decision is right or wrong, as there are equally good arguments from both sides. But I can comment on the way it is implemented, and how this backlash could have been reduced to a larger extent.  I am from Kolkata, and for many years, the government over there has taken few decisions which were correct for the greater good, but not liked by many. As those decisions were taken sensibly, and were not as harsh as this one, so the protest or backlash was also controlled. Some of these decisions were limiting the sale area of fireworks in a controlled and designated place, (now implemented by other states too) stopping people to celebrate Holi on major roads, and let the celebration happened in lanes only...

(A short story in Hindi)

Shiv and Shankar - The Supreme Power and The Destroyer

People always think that Shiv and Shankar is same, which is not true. Shiv is actually creator of Shankar . Even devotees who spend their whole life worshiping Shankar or Shiv , thinks that they are one and same. This is as common a mistake as calling our religion Hindu , whereas there is no such word in any of our religious texts. Just like we are Sanatan Dharmi , and not Hindu like popular believe, Shiv and Shankar is different and not one entity.

PK – The story behind the story!

I have seen the movie, and saw various comments on social media as well as news for both in support as well as against this movie. One group is claiming that the movie is showing Hindu religion in bad light, whereas another group that it shows true color of people taking advantage in the name of religion. I think both are completely wrong, and they have not understood the movie. I would encourage them to watch the movie again, and if they go after reading this post, it will help them understand the true story of PK.  God works in mysterious ways. God helps who trust God with the core of their heart. You can’t just perform some rituals and expect God to fulfill your wishes. You have to have faith in God. And your faith should not be selfish that if your wish is delayed, then you start questioning God. When you show true faith and devotion, God comes to you, show you the right path. Now all you have to do is walk on that path. This is exactly what PK story is all ...

Deepavali – Mythology, faith and history with little bit of Science

There are many stories, mix with Mythology, faith and history, for Diwali celebration. But the real celebration is not only for these stories, it’s the symbolic meaning of these tales. We celebrate the festival of light, on the dark moonless night. The light represent truth and justice, to eliminate injustice and evils of darkness. We not just fill our surroundings with truthful light, but using firecrackers we fill the skies with light of truth as well. So, go ahead and celebrate this festival, but remember, the real celebration is not in lighting Diyas or firecrackers, its in helping someone in need, doing some good work today, and everyday. When you see the light of happiness on someone’s face, that’s more than 100 Diya's light. When you hear the sound of happiness in their voice, that sound is more than 100 firecrackers to fill your heart with joy. If you find joy and happiness by this, it will be the perfect festival for you! Wishing you all a Very Happy Deepavali!
