We just had
a tragedy in Nepal and some part of India. Thousands of people lost their life
and thousands more were injured. There is loss of property worth millions. It
really a sad situation and we should pray for those who suffered in recent
earthquake. But it’s more saddening that some people are actually trying to
take advantage of this tragedy!! When I see post about praising some institute
or person, on what they have done for victims, along with some bad language
used for specifically targeted religion or groups or people asking what they
are doing, it negate on whatever good these institutions or people are doing.
If you are doing some good work just to show others and make fun of them, it cannot
be called good work. Below is one such example. I praise our Army for reaching
out to victims in record time for rescue. Our government is also responsible
for this quick action, and they should be praised too, including our PM. But
that does not mean some cheap people start posting filthy language about some
community for not doing anything, even when they do not know if the community
or organization or people in question have done something or not. It is just
the culture of hate politics. I feel bad because a lot of ignorant people
blindly believe such posts and share it.
Here, in this post, RSS has not sent
anyone to Nepal, and they have issued official clarification about it. There is
no confirmation about what Shiv Sena is doing or planning to do. Similarly,
there are posts going on about Swarn Mandir and Delhi Gurdwara sending thousands
of food packets to Nepal. That news is true, as they are going to send food
packets. But it actually presented again in negative way, questioning others on
what they are doing. I am sure no one from Gurdwara or Swarn Mandir wants any
publicity for what they are doing. They are doing this to help the victims of
this tragedy. We all should be doing our bit to help these people. I am going
to donate for relief work, but I will not be posting any such message to
question others where they are and what are they doing. I think such posts are similar
to what we call in Hindi लाशों पर
रोटी सेकना। Please see this pic taken from one such post, and decide for yourself.
All I would request you to pray for the victims, do whatever you can to help them. If you are not able to physically go there, at least help some of the charities who are trying to help the victims. Below are some of the charities which are authentic and you can donate to these for help.
Please note that the Prime Minister's National Relief Fund is of India's, but we all know that our government and army is helping with full effort to the victims. I am donating to them, as I can see the help they are providing. But the other charities are also vetted and authentic. So, go ahead, please donate whatever you can. Someone will thank you for your help. And please please please, stay away from hate posts by people who are looking for an opportunity in this tragedy as well.
